Daily Brains · three number locks, + − × ÷, hit the target.

Numberlock is the arithmetic puzzle in Daily Brains (/daily). Each day sets three locks of rising difficulty. A lock shows a target and a handful of number tiles; combine tiles with the four operations, using each at most once, until a tile equals the target. Every lock is generated with a built-in solver, so all three are always openable.

STORY & LORE

Three tiers

Lock 1 is a warm-up: five small numbers (1–10) and a two-digit target. Lock 2 adds a big number (25, 50, 75 or 100) and a target from 100 to 399. Lock 3 keeps the big number and pushes the target to 400–999.

Guaranteed solvable

The game enumerates every value reachable from the day's tiles and only picks targets from that set, then throws out any target that is already sitting on a tile. The seed is the day number, so every player gets the same three locks.

HOW IT PLAYS

Combining

Tap a number, tap an operator, tap another number. The two tiles merge into the result. Only whole, positive results are allowed: subtraction must leave a positive number and division must be exact. Undo steps back one merge and Reset restores the round. Keys 1–6, + − × ÷ and Backspace also work.

Scoring

An exact hit banks 200 points plus a speed bonus of up to 100 (fading over roughly three minutes). If you are stuck, Lock closest banks your nearest tile: within 5 of the target pays 100, within 10 pays 50. The day's score is the sum of all three locks, up to 900.

Streaks

Opening at least one lock counts as a win for the day's streak; opening all three is a perfect day. The share line shows 🔓 or 🔒 for each lock plus your total.
