Daily Brains · one maze a day, seven twists, one per weekday.
Daily Maze is the labyrinth in Daily Brains (/daily). Every day brings one freshly generated maze, identical for every player, and every weekday has its own twist — from a gentle classic Monday to a fiendish two-twist Sunday on a big board. A built-in solver searches every possible state of the day's maze to find par, the fewest steps that can escape it, so a perfect run is always possible and always provable.
Monday is a classic maze (8×10). Tuesday hides the board in fog: you only see about two cells around you, places you have been stay faintly mapped, and the exit beacon always glows. Wednesday adds three coloured doors on the only route out, each opened by a matching key tucked down a side passage; keys stay with you. Thursday scatters one-way arrow gates. Friday is an ice floor: every move slides until a wall stops you, and the exit catches you as you pass. Saturday has purple walls that swing 90° on their pivots every 3 steps, with a wait button for timing. Sunday pairs two of fog, keys, arrows and spin on a 12×16 board, cycling through six pairings week by week.
The board is carved with a growing-tree algorithm seeded by the puzzle number, so everyone gets the same maze. Arrow and spin days knock through some dead ends to make loops, then place gates or swinging walls across the current best route one at a time. After every placement a breadth-first search over the full state (cell, keys held, wall phase) re-checks that the maze is still solvable and trap-free: from any position you can reach, the exit is still reachable. Doors are placed on the only path through a tree-shaped maze and loops are only added inside one door's region, so no door can be skipped.
Swipe or drag on the maze (dragging walks cell by cell), use the on-screen arrow pad (hold to repeat), or arrow keys / WASD. On spin days Space or the ⏳ button waits one step. ↺ returns you to the start with the step count reset, but the clock keeps running. ⚑ gives up: the day counts as a loss and the way out is drawn.
Par is the solver's minimum number of steps (on ice days one slide is one step). The score is out of 1000: up to 700 for steps (700 × par ÷ your steps, full marks at par) plus up to 300 for speed. The speed bonus is full under a target time that scales with par and the day's twists, then fades to zero at three times that target. Escaping in exactly par steps is a perfect day.
Any escape counts for the streak. The share line gives the puzzle number, the twist, your steps against par and your time, plus an eight-square efficiency bar and up to three stars — nothing that gives the route away. Once the day is over the solver's route is drawn as a blue dotted line next to your red trail.
